Bhavna Botta, a young serial entrepreneur with cerebral palsy, had her dream project, Saahaagika, an exclusive boutique for ahimsa silk, washed away in the recent rains and floods in Chennai. Broken but not beaten, she looks for strength, motivation and new avenues to start afresh.

Could you tell us a bit about your journey and how you became an entrepreneur?

Tamahar not only tries to develop the children with various activities, it also brings the family, the primary caregivers, into its fold to help them grow and learn with the children. Vaishali Pai is a visionary and an experienced occupational therapist who set up the Tamahar Trust in 2009 to help children with special needs find their own little spaces in this world. She shares how she would like Tamahar to reach out to more children in future.

The Rehabilitation Research and Device Development (R2D2) lab at IIT Madras, headed by Dr. Sujatha Srinivasan, is involved in research related to design and development of mechanisms, products and assistive devices for people with impairments. Says Chennai based 26-year-old Kumaran Kumanan, who is an author, a counseling psychologist, a PhD student, an avid Facebook user, living with cerebral palsy. Read his interview on making Inclusion possible.

Meet Kumaran Kumanan author of Aanantha Thaandavam, an autobiography in Tamil. The English version of the autobiography aptly titled "CP to CP" Cerebral Palsy to Counseling Psychologist” was released on September 11 2014.

Tell us about yourself, Kumaran.

Sameer Chaturvedi, a post graduate in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics and currently a PhD researcher, lives with Cerebral Palsy but that has not stopped him from feeling as much a part of society as anyone else. Here’s why:

Jyotsna, tell us about your condition. 

I was diagnosed with Sensiro Neural Deafness in 1997, I was 30 years old then.
